CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Level 1 ~ Introduction to Bellydance
Introduction to Bellydance focuses on the fundamentals of bellydance while
providing a workout that tones and strengthens the entire body. In each
fun-filled class, students will learn a variety of bellydance movements and use
them to create an exciting choreography to take home and practice. No prior
dance experience is necessary. Just come ready to learn and have a great
time!
*All students new to bellydance must complete at least one Level 1 session before moving on to Level 2.
Level 2 ~ Beginner/Intermediate Bellydance
Beginner/Intermediate
Bellydance is ideal for students who wish to refine their movement
vocabulary
and delve deeper into the artistic as well as the fitness aspects of
bellydance. This class expands upon the basic movement and technique
taught in Level 1 and introduces students to a variety of bellydance
topics
offering a unique workout experience. Performance opportunities with
Rasha's Level 2 student troupe, Manohara Dance Ensemble, may be
provided but are not required for enrollment in this class.
Level 3 ~ Intermediate/Advanced Bellydance
Intermediate/Advanced
Bellydance offers students a challenging environment to elevate their dance skills to the next level.
This class explores the art of bellydance and focuses on advanced
technique, layering of movement, transitions, and musical interpretation with
an emphasis on performance skills and development of personal style.
Performance opportunities with Rasha's Level 3 student troupe, Troupe Janan, may be
provided but are not required for enrollment in this class.
All Levels ~ Cardio Bellydance
This class is a fitness class that incorporates both the toning and aerobic
benefits of bellydance. Each class we will dance off the pounds using
basic bellydance movements as well as toning exercises that target the muscles
used in bellydancing. No technique breakdown...just an hour of hot,
sweaty fun!
*All levels are welcome in this class but completion of at least one Level 1 session is recommended.
